Palamu Police Remands Six Accused to Judicial Custody

Daltonganj: Police have remanded six men, accused of various crimes, to judicial custody, Palamu Superintendent of Police (SP) Kapil Chaudhary said.

Firing Over Cold Drink Bill

Saif Khaleefa was arrested for allegedly firing at a shop owner on Friday after an argument over buying a cold drink and chocolates. “Saif got into an argument with the shop owner after buying a cold drink and chocolate. The shopkeeper billed the items for Rs 65 but Saif was adamant on paying only Rs 60. In a fit of rage, he took out a desi-pistol and shot at the shopkeeper. The bullet grazed past his ear,” said officer in charge of Chainpur police station, Sriram Sharma.

Shooting of Police Constable

In another case, Rishabh Singh had shot at Pawan Singh, a police constable of Latehar district armed police, at Sua village under Chainpur police station limits on May 3. Rishabh surrendered in the court from where police sought his one-day remand on May 8. SP said, “Rishabh has confessed to his crime. His confession led to the recovery of a 7.65 mm desi pistol with magazine, and the bike used in the crime.”

Murder Over Land Dispute

Guddu Singh was arrested for allegedly murdering Raj Muni Pathak, 62, over a land dispute under Pipra Tarn police station limits on April 29.

Robbery Case

Three men were arrested by officers of Lesliganj police station for robbing a mangal sutra, earrings, and Rs 500 from a woman on April 7. The robbed items were recovered, SP said.
