Patiala MC Drive Against Illegal Posters and Hoardings

MC Teams Remove Unauthorised Publicity Material Across City

On Wednesday, special teams from the Municipal Corporation, Patiala, visited multiple locations across the city to remove unauthorised posters, banners, and hoardings pasted on government buildings, walls, electricity poles, bridges, and other public properties. The drive is being conducted under the Punjab Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 1997, and violators face strict legal action.

Mayor and Commissioner Warn Violators

Mayor Kundan Gogia and Commissioner Pooja Syal Grewal stated that the MC is preparing a list of individuals and entities that displayed publicity material without permission. Notices will be issued to violators, and those failing to comply will face legal proceedings under the Act. They emphasised that defacement of public property not only spoils the city's appearance but also damages its beauty and heritage.

Appeal to Residents and Businesses

The civic body has appealed to residents, commercial establishments, and social organisations to refrain from putting up posters or banners on government property without authorisation. Instead, they are encouraged to use only designated locations for advertisements.
