The Patti police have arrested Sewa Singh, a commission agent, for allegedly opening fire on Nishan Singh, a farmer from Ubboke village. The dispute arose after Nishan harvested wheat on 11 acres of land leased from Sewa, and Sewa made dry fodder (toori) from the entire straw without consulting Nishan.
Incident Details
On June 17, Sewa called Nishan to his house to settle the matter, but the meeting escalated into an argument. Later that day, Sewa, accompanied by his aides, went to Nishan’s house and opened fire on him. Fortunately, Nishan survived the attack.

A case has been registered against Sewa Singh under Sections 109, 333, 305(2), and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as well as Sections 25, 27, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act. Police are investigating the role of the aides involved.
