A 35-year-old assistant professor from a private university has been reported missing under mysterious circumstances in the Gajraula area of Amroha. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon, sending shockwaves through the academic community and prompting an intensive police investigation.
Akash Bhardwaj, a resident of Mansarovar Colony in Gajraula, left for work on Friday morning but never returned home, according to concerned family members. The professor, who originally hails from Mirapur Buwaich village in Shikarpur, Bulandshahr, had been living in Gajraula for his university job.
Motorcycle Discovery Sparks Multi-District Search
Later on Friday evening, the situation took a more concerning turn when Bhardwaj's motorcycle was found abandoned on Brijghat guest house Road in Hapur district. This discovery prompted immediate action from law enforcement agencies across district boundaries.
When family members couldn't reach Akash on his phone, they used mobile tracking technology to determine his last known location was in the Brijghat area. This information proved crucial in directing the search efforts to the right location.
Joint Police Operation Intensifies
The case has drawn significant attention from senior police officials. University Pro-Chancellor Rajeev Tyagi personally informed Amroha SP Amit Kumar Anand about the professor's disappearance, leading to heightened police involvement.
Speaking about the ongoing efforts, SP Amit Kumar Anand confirmed: "The professor's motorcycle was found at Brijghat. The search continued late into the night, but Akash could not be located. Joint teams of Amroha and Hapur police are actively searching and an investigation is underway."
