A shocking incident of domestic violence unfolded in Pune on Wednesday morning, leading to the arrest of a young woman. The Kothrud police have registered a serious case against a 22-year-old wife for allegedly throwing boiling tea on her husband, causing severe burn injuries.
Heated Argument Turns Violent
The distressing event took place at the couple's residence around 10:30 AM on Wednesday. According to the police complaint, the husband, a 27-year-old security guard, stated that he and his wife had been arguing over several domestic issues since late Tuesday night. The disagreement spilled over into the next morning, turning increasingly hostile.
Senior Inspector Sandeep Deshmane of Kothrud police station provided details of the altercation. "The man told us that he and his wife argued over several domestic issues late on Tuesday night. The argument continued on Wednesday morning," Deshmane said. The situation reached a boiling point while the woman was preparing tea.
Severe Burns and Immediate Aftermath
In a fit of rage during the heated exchange, the woman reportedly picked up the utensil containing the freshly boiled tea and threw the scalding liquid directly at her husband. The attack resulted in significant burn injuries on his chest and face.
The injured husband was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. Senior Inspector Deshmane confirmed, "The doctors have treated him for the injuries and the victim is out of danger." The couple, who have been married for approximately one year, now find themselves at the center of a grave police case.

Following the incident, the husband formally lodged a complaint against his wife at the Kothrud police station. Acting on his statement, the police have registered a case under relevant sections for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
