Discovery of the Incident
Neha Kumari's colleague, Sonal, became concerned when she received no response after knocking on the locked door of their shared accommodation in 10 Block, Govind Nagar. After persistent attempts, Sonal promptly informed Neha's family members and the Govind Nagar police station. Police officers, accompanied by a forensic team, rushed to the scene and broke open the door to discover Neha's body. A diary containing what appears to be a suicide note was found in the room, adding a poignant detail to the investigation.
Background and Personal Details
Neha Kumari was a native of Muzaffarpur in Bihar and had been appointed as a technician in the Indian Railways in 2020. She was posted at the workshop in Fazalganj, Kanpur. Her elder brother, Chandan, who works with the Agra Metro, revealed that Neha lived with her colleague Sonal. Their father, Umesh Kumar, is employed by a private company in Jharkhand.
Chandan further shared that Neha had taken leave on February 23 to visit her family home for the Holi festival. She returned to Kanpur on Thursday, the same day the tragic event unfolded. This timeline raises questions about her state of mind following the holiday and her recent engagement, which took place on February 26.
