Rajasthan ATS Arrests Bishnoi Gang Associate, Recovers Cartridges

The Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Saturday apprehended a man suspected of being associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The operation led to the recovery of seven live cartridges from the suspect's residence in Bansa Kushalpura village, located under the Samod police station jurisdiction in Jaipur Rural, according to ATS officials.

Details of the Arrest

The arrested individual has been identified as Anil Kumar, also known as Monty. He is alleged to have connections with Sunil Kumar, alias SK, an absconding gangster considered a close ally of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The operation was spearheaded by Additional Director General (ATS/AGTF) Dinesh MN, with oversight from Inspector General Rajesh Singh.

ATS officials reported that intelligence gathered indicated Kumar's involvement in arms trafficking and various gang-related activities. Investigators are also looking into Sunil Meena, a suspected key player originally from Jalandhar, Punjab, who is currently on the run abroad and allegedly has connections to international criminals, including those in Pakistan.

Recovery of Cartridges

During interrogations, Kumar disclosed the location of the hidden cartridges, which prompted the ATS to collaborate with the Jaipur Rural police for a timely raid. A team, guided by Samod Station House Officer Gopichand and Sub-Inspector Babulal, conducted the search, uncovering seven live cartridges concealed within the premises. A case has been filed against Kumar under the Arms Act, and authorities are continuing their investigation to trace the origins of the seized ammunition and further unravel the criminal network.

Appeal to the Public

The ATS has also appealed to the public for support, encouraging citizens to provide information about illegal arms trafficking while ensuring their anonymity. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities seeking to dismantle the broader criminal network linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
