Ranchi Woman Fatally Shot by Husband Over Extra-Marital Affair Dispute
A tragic incident of domestic violence unfolded in Ranchi on Saturday when a 30-year-old woman was shot dead by her husband for allegedly opposing his extra-marital affair. The shocking murder took place in the Manitola area under the jurisdiction of the Doranda police station, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Victim Found with Gunshot Wound to Head
The victim, identified as Tarannum Parveen, was discovered lying in a pool of blood with a fatal gunshot wound to her head. Authorities reported finding the firearm in her hand with a finger positioned on the trigger, though initial evidence suggests this was staged. Tarannum, a mother of three children, worked as a domestic helper to support her family financially.
Police Investigation Reveals Disturbing Details
Hatia Deputy Superintendent of Police PK Mishra, who visited the crime scene, provided crucial insights into the investigation. The couple's son has reportedly told police that his father shot his mother before placing the pistol in her hand, indicating an attempt to manipulate the scene. Mishra noted that forensic inconsistencies raise questions about how the victim could have moved to the bed after being shot on the floor.
"The scene of crime also raises questions as to how the woman went to bed after getting shot on the floor," Mishra stated. "A case of murder would be registered in this connection. The investigation would reveal the truth."
Accused Husband Absconding After Murder
The accused husband, identified as Tauqib Alam alias Saheb, fled the scene immediately after the shooting and remains at large. Police have launched extensive raids to apprehend him. According to Deputy SP Mishra, Alam maintained an illicit relationship with another woman, and Tarannum's objections to this affair frequently led to heated arguments between the couple.
"Alam had an illicit relationship with another woman. Tarannum used to object to that, which led to arguments," Mishra explained. "On Saturday, Praveen and Alam had a quarrel following which he allegedly killed her."
Neighbors Witness Disturbing Events
Local residents reported hearing a loud gunshot from Alam's residence. When they rushed to investigate, they witnessed Alam fleeing the scene. Inside the house, they discovered Tarannum's lifeless body and immediately alerted the police authorities. The forensic science laboratory team was summoned to the location to collect evidence and analyze the crime scene thoroughly.
