Ratlam Student Alleges Assault After Being Drugged at Birthday Party
A Class 12 student from Ratlam has filed a police complaint alleging that a youth attempted to sexually assault her after giving her an intoxicating substance at a birthday party. The incident, which occurred on November 30 last year, has led to a formal case being registered at the Industrial Area police station, with authorities actively searching for the accused.
Details of the Alleged Incident
According to the police report, the survivor attended a friend's birthday celebration where she was approached by a youth identified as Munnalal. The girl stated that he offered her a white, powder-like substance, insisting she taste it. After consuming it, she began feeling dizzy and stepped outside the venue.
The complainant further alleged that the accused followed her outside, behaved inappropriately, and took photographs of her. He then reportedly pressured her for a physical relationship and threatened to kill her and circulate the photographs if she reported the matter to anyone.
Police Investigation and FIR
Police officials revealed that the survivor remained silent for nearly two-and-a-half months due to fear and pressure before finally approaching the police with her grandmother. Following her statement, a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at the Industrial Area police station.
During the subsequent investigation, police discovered that the accused's real name is Saif Ali, who operates a roadside spectacles stall. A case has been registered under charges of molestation, criminal intimidation, and other relevant sections against him.
Current Status and Police Response
The accused is currently absconding, and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend him. Industrial Area police station in-charge Satyendra Raghuvanshi confirmed that efforts are underway to arrest the accused, who remains on the run.
