RPF Nanded Division Successfully Prevents Passenger Luggage Thefts at Parbhani Station

In a significant security achievement, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Nanded Division has effectively thwarted two separate theft attempts at Parbhani railway station. This operation was conducted as part of the ongoing Operation Yatri Suraksha initiative, which aims to enhance passenger safety and security across railway networks.

First Theft Attempt Foiled During Morning Patrol

On Tuesday morning, RPF personnel were conducting routine surveillance patrols in the vicinity of platform number 1 and the Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at Parbhani Railway Station. Their primary objective was to prevent theft of passengers' property and ensure a secure environment for travelers.

During this vigilant patrol, officers successfully apprehended a suspect who was in the act of attempting to steal luggage belonging to passengers. Rajesh Shinde, the chief publicity inspector of the Nanded division of South Central Railway, confirmed the details of this incident.

Second Suspect Apprehended in Yard Area Later That Day

Later on the same day, the same dedicated RPF team continued their security operations by patrolling the yard area near the FOB. During this extended surveillance, they identified and apprehended another individual who was attempting to commit a similar theft of passenger luggage.

This swift action demonstrates the effectiveness of continuous monitoring and the commitment of RPF staff to passenger protection under Operation Yatri Suraksha.

Legal Proceedings and Passenger Advisory

Both accused individuals were immediately handed over to the Govt Railway Police (GRP) for further legal action. The police have registered offences against them under Sections 110 and 117 of the Maharashtra Police Act, which pertain to preventive measures and penalties for misconduct in public places.

The railway administration has issued a strong advisory to all passengers, urging them to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity directly to RPF personnel or through the Railway Security Helpline (139). This collaborative approach between authorities and passengers is crucial for maintaining security and preventing such incidents in the future.

Operation Yatri Suraksha continues to play a vital role in safeguarding passenger interests and property across railway stations in the region, with these successful interventions at Parbhani station serving as a testament to its effectiveness.
