In a disturbing incident at a private boarding school near Punalur, the institution's warden and a cook were arrested on Saturday for allegedly physically assaulting a 12-year-old student on suspicion of theft, according to police officials.
Details of the Incident
The cook reportedly suspected the boy of stealing Rs 500 and is said to have hung him upside down a few days ago. The warden is accused of assisting in the act, a police officer at Punalur police station confirmed. The two individuals have been taken into custody and booked under various sections of the Juvenile Justice Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Health and Legal Proceedings
Officials stated that the boy is not suffering from any health complications as a result of the assault and is currently in stable condition. The case came to light after the boy informed his parents about the incident, prompting his father to file a complaint with the police. Authorities are investigating the matter further.
