Fatal Accident on Dugri Bridge
A tragic accident occurred on Dugri bridge in Ludhiana on Monday morning when an unidentified vehicle struck a scooter carrying two friends. The impact was so forceful that the scooter fell off the bridge, resulting in the death of the driver and serious injuries to the pillion rider.
The deceased has been identified as Vipin, a 40-year-old native of Bihar who had been living in Ludhiana for the past 15 years. He worked at a meat shop and was the sole breadwinner for his family, which includes his wife and four daughters, all under the age of 10. The injured pillion rider, Raja, was admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
Circumstances of the Crash
According to available information, Vipin and Raja were traveling on their Activa scooter to deliver household items to a relative. While crossing the Dugri bridge, an unknown vehicle hit them from behind. The collision threw both occupants off the bridge. Vipin succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while Raja sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital.
