Man Murders Wife, Attacks Daughter in Siddipet Family Tragedy
A horrific family incident unfolded in Adarsh Nagar, Siddipet district, on Sunday night. A man allegedly killed his wife and also attacked his daughter when she tried to stop him.
Local police reported that the accused, Yellaiah, later attempted to die by suicide. He survived the alleged suicide bid.
Details of the Violent Attack
Siddipet police stated that Yellaiah killed his wife, Srilatha, who was 40 years old. He slit her throat during the attack.
"He first gave her pesticide and slit her throat," Siddipet police explained.
His daughter Archana witnessed his aggressive behavior. She tried to intervene and stop him.
However, Yellaiah picked up a pestle and attacked Archana. The assault caused a grievous injury to the young woman.
Subsequently, Yellaiah used the same knife to take his own life, according to police accounts.
Motivation and Background
Police investigations revealed that Yellaiah suspected the character of his wife. He decided to kill her based on these suspicions.
"The accused suspected his wife. Whenever Srilatha talked to men, the accused used to attach motives and suspect her character," police said.
It was just 15 days ago that he moved his family to Siddipet from Hyderabad. The relocation happened shortly before the tragic events.
Immediate Response and Medical Care
Local residents became aware of the incident. They quickly alerted the police about the situation.
Police officers reached the spot promptly. They shifted both Yellaiah and Archana to Siddipet Government Hospital for medical treatment.
The condition of Archana remains serious according to hospital reports. She continues to receive medical attention for her injuries.
