Minor Girl Delivers Baby in Sirsa Hospital Toilet, Newborn Dumped
Sirsa: Minor delivers in hospital toilet, newborn dumped

A shocking incident unfolded at Sirsa Civil Hospital in Haryana, where a minor girl reportedly gave birth in a hospital toilet and abandoned the newborn. The event caused significant alarm within the hospital premises before both the young mother and the infant were stabilized.

Discovery and Immediate Response

A woman visiting the hospital first noticed the newborn lying in a toilet and quickly alerted the medical staff. The hospital team acted promptly, shifting the baby, providing crucial first aid, and admitting the infant to the children's ward for further care.

Condition of the Minor Mother and Police Action

Meanwhile, the minor girl began suffering from heavy bleeding post-delivery. Her relatives initially tried to take her away from the hospital, but as her condition worsened, she was rushed to the emergency ward. Doctors assessed her and moved her to the operation theatre for necessary treatment. Both the minor and her newborn are now stated to be out of danger.

Following the incident, the hospital administration informed the police and the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). A police team recorded the minor girl's statement in the committee's presence. Based on her complaint, an FIR was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against a relative of the girl.

Allegations and Ongoing Investigation

In her statement, the minor alleged that the accused relative had sexually assaulted her and threatened her into silence. She had come to the Civil Hospital with her mother on Monday, complaining of abdominal pain, which led to the unforeseen delivery in the toilet. The police have confirmed that further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
