Sitapur Police Crack Murder Case: Wife Strangles Husband with Muffler

Sitapur police successfully solved a shocking murder case on Sunday. The body of a 32-year-old man was discovered along a national highway in Sitapur district. Investigators revealed that his wife allegedly strangled him to death using his own muffler. She reportedly carried out the crime with the help of her lover and his friend.

Three Accused Arrested and Sent to Jail

Police arrested three individuals in connection with the murder. All three accused now face charges and have been sent to jail. The deceased, identified as Raju, was a 32-year-old resident of Karora village in Lucknow's Nagram area.

Authorities found Raju's body late Thursday night near Kunwarpur village. The location was along the roadside of a national highway in the Kamlapur region. Initially, Raju's wife, Pappi, claimed her husband died in a road accident. She stated he was returning from Khairabad after visiting a doctor.

Inconsistencies in Wife's Statement Raise Suspicion

Police quickly noticed problems with Pappi's story. Her statement contained several inconsistencies that did not match the evidence. Investigators also observed that no external injuries appeared on Pappi's body. This detail raised serious suspicion about her account of events.

Raju's younger brother, Rahul Kumar, filed a formal complaint. He accused Pappi, her alleged lover Chaudhary Mohammad Tafzeel, and Tafzeel's friend Anand of murdering Raju. Tafzeel lived in Amburpur, while Anand resided in Chaubepur.

Wife Confesses During Police Interrogation

Following the registration of an FIR, police detained Pappi for questioning. During sustained interrogation, she allegedly confessed to the murder. Her confession led to the subsequent arrests of Tafzeel and Anand.

Investigators learned that Pappi had been in a relationship with Tafzeel for nearly eight years. Police described Tafzeel as a quack who opened a clinic near her village in 2017. Pappi frequently visited this clinic for medicines. Their interactions gradually developed into a close relationship by 2019.

Relationship Continued Despite Marriage

Despite marrying Raju in 2025, Pappi allegedly maintained her relationship with Tafzeel. Police stated she often visited her parental home, claiming illness as the reason. She remained in regular contact with Tafzeel through phone calls.

Raju's brother-in-law, Rahul, reportedly noticed this behavior earlier. He observed Pappi's frequent visits and suspected something was amiss.

Premeditated Murder Plot Unfolds

Police confirmed the murder was premeditated. According to Pappi's confession, she persuaded Raju to accompany her to her maternal home during the Khichdi festival. After arriving, she complained of abdominal pain. She then convinced Raju to take her to Tafzeel's clinic on his motorcycle.

At the clinic, Tafzeel allegedly told Raju that further tests were necessary. He suggested an ultrasound at Khairabad. Raju then traveled with his wife, Tafzeel, and Anand toward Khairabad.

Brutal Attack on Secluded Road

During the journey, Pappi asked Raju to stop the motorcycle at a secluded spot. There, the trio allegedly attacked Raju with a stick. They hit him on the head, causing him to collapse. Then they strangled him using his own muffler, killing him on the spot.

The accused dumped the body near the highway afterward. They attempted to pass off the murder as a road accident to avoid detection.

Brother's Persistence Leads to Breakthrough

Police credited Rahul's persistence for breaking the case. He maintained his suspicion and submitted a written complaint. Based on evidence gathered, interrogation results, and the confession, investigators solved the murder.

The Sitapur police demonstrated thorough investigative work. They pieced together the timeline and motives behind this brutal crime. The case serves as a reminder that careful police work can uncover even the most carefully planned crimes.
