Woman Climbs 150-Foot Tower with Two Children in Gonda
A woman in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district climbed a 150-foot mobile tower on Tuesday, holding her two young children, to demand that her alleged lover live with her and provide financial support. The incident drew a large crowd and prompted a police response.
Police Negotiate After Hour-Long Standoff
According to police officials, the woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, climbed the tower around noon. She remained atop the structure for over an hour while police and local authorities negotiated with her. The woman alleged that her husband had abandoned her, and her alleged lover, Ram Akabal Singh, had also stopped living with her and was not providing financial support. She demanded that Singh be compelled to live with her and take responsibility for the children.
Woman Brought Down Safely
After prolonged persuasion, police managed to convince the woman to descend. She and her children were brought down safely and taken to a local police station for further questioning. No injuries were reported. Police stated that they are investigating the matter and will take appropriate action based on the woman's allegations and the circumstances.
