Surat Doctor Murdered by Husband, Body in Cement Box

A female doctor was allegedly murdered by her husband in Gujarat's Surat, with her body later found stuffed inside a wooden box at his old residence, police said on Sunday.

According to police, the accused Vishal Salvi killed his wife Dr. Shilpa Salvi on April 20 and transported the body to an old house in the Salabatpura area of Surat. He allegedly placed the body inside a wooden box and attempted to conceal it by pouring cement over it.

Salabatpura police inspector R.A. Jadeja told TOI: "The couple lived with their son in the Godadara area of Surat. They were married for 15 years. The accused had filed a missing complaint for the woman on April 20 with Godadara police. However, later he gave a letter to his son and disappeared from home. Based on the letter, we traced the woman to his old home in Salabatpura. We have formed various teams to nab the accused."
