A 49-year-old teacher was arrested on charges of sexually harassing a 13-year-old boy inside a school's computer laboratory in Dholka, Ahmedabad, police confirmed on Wednesday. The accused, a teacher at a local school, has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and for criminal intimidation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Incident Details

According to a complaint filed by the child's father, the alleged incident occurred between 8:30 am and 9:00 am in the school's computer room. The teacher reportedly took the student to the room under the pretext of a task involving keys. Once inside, he allegedly removed his pants and attempted to hug the student. The boy managed to free himself and escape from the room.

Threats and Legal Action

The complaint further alleges that the teacher threatened to kill the student if he disclosed the incident to anyone. The case was registered at Dholka Town police station on Friday. Following the registration, the teacher went into hiding.

Investigation and Arrest

Ahmedabad Rural police formed multiple teams to track the accused, using his mobile phone's location data. Police said the teacher was traced and taken into custody based on available evidence. He is expected to be produced before a court for remand as part of the ongoing investigation.
