Railway Protection Force personnel at Kanpur Central Station received crucial information about three runaway girls traveling in the general coach of Mahabodhi Express. When the train arrived at platform number two on Sunday, officers immediately began searching for the minors.
The girls noticed the approaching RPF team and attempted to escape. They quickly disembarked from the train and hurried toward the Cantonment side of the station. However, the experienced personnel swiftly cordoned off the area and successfully apprehended all three teenagers.
Family Conflict Triggers Drastic Decision
During questioning, one fourteen-year-old girl revealed the motivation behind their journey. She explained that her mother had scolded her when she requested money for an outing with friends. This confrontation left her deeply upset and determined to prove her independence.
The agitated teenager decided to leave her Gaya home and travel to Delhi to become self-reliant. She managed to persuade two friends to join her on this impulsive adventure. Together, they boarded Mahabodhi Express on Saturday without informing their families.
Police Coordination Ensures Safe Return
RPF officers immediately contacted their counterparts in Bihar after rescuing the girls. They informed Gaya police station in-charge Dhananjay Singh about recovering the missing teenagers. Singh confirmed that family members had already filed a police complaint, initially suspecting possible kidnapping.
Kanpur Central Station RPF post in-charge SN Patidar stated that Bihar police officers took custody of the girls for their safe return home. The timely intervention prevented the teenagers from reaching Delhi unsupervised.
This incident highlights how minor family conflicts can sometimes lead children to make dangerous decisions. It also demonstrates effective inter-state coordination between railway security forces and local police departments.
