Bhilwara: In a joint operation conducted on Saturday, the district special team (DST) and Sadar police of Tonk district arrested criminal Kishan Mogya, who carried a bounty of Rs 5,000, along with his accomplice Soil. The police seized a large quantity of cartridges, a cap gun, a car, four mobile phones, and Rs 43,000 from the duo.
Operation Details
Tonk Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Meena stated that police officers were directed to prevent the smuggling of illegal weapons in the Tonk district. To this end, a special team comprising Sadar police and DST was formed. Acting on a tip-off, the police team reached the road connecting Chandlai to Banbor in the Sadar police station area, where they stopped a Thar vehicle.
Arrest and Seizure
The car belonged to Kishan Mogya, a criminal with a Rs 5,000 reward on his head. Upon spotting the police, Kishan parked the Thar and attempted to flee, but the team chased and arrested him. Police seized illegal weapons from the car, including a pistol, a 12-bore gun, a cap gun, 28 empty cartridges, 294 live cartridges and bullets, a blood-stained axe, three blood-stained sharp knives, a blood-stained pointed screwdriver, four mobile phones, Rs 43,000 cash, and the Thar car. The sharp-edged weapons were found stained with blood, which the accused revealed were used for hunting stray animals.
Legal Action
A case was registered under the Arms Act and various other sections, and an investigation has begun. A total of eight cases are registered against Mogya at various police stations.
