Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh: A 30-year-old tribal woman was allegedly raped by one of three men who entered a field in the Badnagar area of Ujjain district to steal windmill cables, police said on Saturday. The family, which was guarding the site, was assaulted during the incident.

Incident Details

According to Ujjain Superintendent of Police (SP) Pradeep Sharma, the woman claimed that one of the men who had come to steal windmill cables raped her. The family had moved to Badnagar from Dhar district a week ago. Based on the complaint, a case was registered, and the woman's statements were recorded before a magistrate on Saturday. “All angles are being investigated,” SP Sharma said.

The SP added that medical examinations of both the woman and her husband were conducted, but no injuries were found. The incident occurred around midnight on June 18 when the woman, her husband, and their son were asleep in a makeshift hut in the field, where the couple worked as watchkeepers.
