A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 28-year-old man in Gurgaon's Industrial Model Township (IMT) Manesar on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Shekhar Sharma from Uttar Pradesh, was returning home from work around 2 pm when the incident occurred.
Head Crushed Under Truck Tyre
Police discovered Sharma's body in Sector 8 of IMT Manesar with his head completely crushed under the tyre of a heavy vehicle. Authorities confirmed that a truck was involved in the fatal accident based on evidence at the scene.
Police Response and Investigation
Manesar police station received information about the incident at 3:30 pm through a call from Civil Hospital. Teams immediately rushed to the location and sent the body for postmortem examination.
"We are thoroughly scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the vehicle and trace the driver," stated a police officer involved in the investigation. The exact circumstances leading to the accident remain unclear as police continue their probe.
Authorities have registered a case against an unknown vehicle and driver. The investigation is actively ongoing with multiple teams working to piece together what happened during those critical afternoon hours.
Separate Accident in Bilaspur
In another road mishap on the same day, a 19-year-old youth named Vivek lost his life in Bilaspur's Rathiwas area. The accident occurred when a canter truck struck Vivek from behind while he was talking to friends near NH8 on his motorcycle.
The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the collision, abandoning the vehicle at the location. Three other individuals sustained injuries in this separate incident.
Legal Action Taken
Bilaspur police station teams reached the Rathiwas accident site promptly and took custody of the body. They have registered a case against the truck driver under Section 281 for rash driving and Section 106 for death by negligence according to the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
These back-to-back accidents highlight growing concerns about road safety in the region. Both investigations continue as authorities work to hold responsible parties accountable and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
