A court in Madhya Pradesh on Monday granted the police seven-day custody of Samarth Singh, the husband of Twisha Sharma, who died under mysterious circumstances earlier this month. The couple had been married for less than a year.

Twisha Sharma, a 24-year-old woman from Bhopal, was found dead at her residence on March 2. Her family alleged that she was murdered by her husband and in-laws over dowry demands. The police initially registered a case of unnatural death, but later converted it to murder based on the family's complaint.

Samarth Singh was produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Bhopal, which remanded him to police custody until March 18.
