Encounter on NH-44
On the evening of Tuesday, a CIA-I team was conducting searches in the Shahabad area. During the operation, police received intelligence that two men carrying illegal weapons were riding a motorcycle near Ratangarh on NH-44. Following the alert, districtwide checkpoints were set up through the control room and checking operations were intensified.

A Kurukshetra police spokesperson said, "Police signalled them to stop, but the suspects opened fire on the team. One of the bullets struck PSI Rahul's bulletproof jacket. Police retaliated and fired at the suspects, injuring both in their legs before taking them into custody."

The injured accused were initially taken to Shahabad Civil Hospital and later shifted to LNJP Hospital in Kurukshetra for treatment. Inspector Prateek said police recovered 10 empty cartridge cases from the encounter site, along with one .32-bore pistol, one country-made firearm, and four live cartridges from the accused.
