As they strolled, two persons identified as Deepak Chaubey and Vivek Chaubey passed by with their own dog. The situation escalated quickly when Shukla's dog barked at the other canine, prompting the Chaubeys to respond with verbal abuses.

What began as a heated exchange of words soon turned violent. In a reckless act, the Chaubeys allegedly opened indiscriminate fire, targeting Shukla's pet. The dog sustained bullet injuries on its ear and chest, necessitating immediate medical attention. The injured animal was rushed to a veterinary hospital for treatment, while the accused fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

Police Action and Legal Proceedings

Ahraula police station in-charge Amit Kumar Mishra confirmed that based on Hriday Narayan Shukla's complaint, a named FIR has been registered against Deepak Chaubey and Vivek Chaubey. The charges include serious sections under the BNS:

  • Section 109(1) for attempt to murder, reflecting the gravity of the act.
  • Section 351(3) for criminal intimidation, highlighting the threatening behavior involved.
  • Section 325 for mischief by killing or maiming an animal, directly addressing the harm caused to the pet.
