Police in Gurgaon have taken two men into custody for their alleged involvement in a horrific case of gang rape and assault. The incident, which occurred late on Monday night, left a 25-year-old woman with severe facial injuries after she was reportedly thrown from a moving vehicle on the Gurgaon–Faridabad road.
A Night of Horror on a Foggy Road
According to the official complaint, the ordeal began after the woman left her home around 8:30 PM on Monday following a disagreement with her mother. She informed her sister she was visiting a friend and was expected back soon. However, her return was delayed, and she began her journey back close to midnight.
With no public transport available at that hour, she accepted a lift from a van, a Maruti Suzuki Eco, which was occupied by two men. Instead of taking her home, the vehicle was driven towards the Gurgaon–Faridabad road. The woman told police she was held against her will for nearly three hours as the van moved through deserted stretches of Faridabad amid dense fog.
Assault and Abandonment
The victim stated that she cried for help repeatedly. However, due to the cold, heavy fog, and sparse traffic on the road, no one came to her aid. The family's complaint alleges that both men took turns to rape her during this terrifying period.
The nightmare culminated around 3 AM on Tuesday when the woman was allegedly pushed out of the moving van near Mula Hotel at Raja Chowk in SGM Nagar. This brutal act caused severe facial injuries that later required 12 stitches.
Police Action and Investigation
Despite her injuries, the brave survivor managed to contact her sister, who immediately rushed her to a hospital. While doctors advised shifting her to a facility in Delhi, the family admitted her to a private hospital in Faridabad.
Following a formal complaint lodged by the victim's family, an FIR was registered at the Kotwali police station. Acting swiftly on the complaint, the police arrested the two accused and seized the van used in the crime. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
This shocking incident has once again raised serious concerns about the safety of women, especially during late hours and on isolated stretches of road in the National Capital Region.
