Arrests Made in Dumka Firing Incident

Dumka police have arrested three individuals, including two siblings, in connection with the June 18 firing on Poraiyahat panchayat mukhiya Anupam Kumar Bhagat, also known as Laddu. The attack occurred in the main market area, where the assailants fired two shots at Bhagat before fleeing on a motorcycle. Bhagat narrowly escaped injury.

Accused Identified and Motive Revealed

In his complaint, Bhagat named Ankit Yadav, Nayan Yadav, and Vikash Yadav as the perpetrators. He claimed the attack was retaliation for his recent testimony in court against them in the 2024 murder case of Shailendra Bhagat. According to DSP (Headquarters) J P N Chaudhary, the accused have confessed to the crime.

Weapons and Evidence Seized

During the arrests, police recovered the pistol used in the firing, four live cartridges, a country-made firearm with one round of ammunition, a car, and two mobile phones. The seized items provide crucial evidence linking the suspects to the crime.
