Unidentified Woman's Body Recovered from Canal in Hansi District
In a disturbing incident, the body of an unidentified woman was discovered in the Moth Minor canal on the Narnaund-Hansi Road in Hansi district on Saturday morning. The recovery occurred under circumstances that have raised suspicions, prompting a thorough police investigation into the matter.
Discovery and Recovery Efforts
According to local authorities, passers-by first spotted the body lodged under the Moth Minor bridge around 10 am. They immediately alerted the police, leading to a swift response from the Narnaund police station. A team arrived at the scene and, with assistance from local residents, managed to retrieve the body from the canal waters.
The body was subsequently transported to Hansi Civil Hospital for a detailed post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Preliminary assessments by officials indicate that the woman was approximately 50 to 55 years old.
Key Findings and Injuries
Police reported that the woman was wearing jewellery at the time of discovery, including a gold locket, gold earrings, and a nose ring, all of which were found intact. However, investigators noted a deep injury mark on her forehead. Officials have stated that it is too early to conclude whether this injury resulted from an accident or other causes.
Additionally, the little finger and the adjacent finger of her right hand were found severed. Police believe these injuries are old and likely unrelated to the current incident, based on initial observations.

Station House Officer Sadanand emphasized that the precise cause of death will only be confirmed after the post-mortem report is received. In the meantime, police are actively working to identify the woman by circulating photographs of the deceased to nearby police stations and examining missing persons records.
