A tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad district early Tuesday claimed the lives of a man and his 11-year-old son, while critically injuring his teenage daughter, after a gas tanker ran over the family as they slept outside their home.
Accident Details
The incident occurred at Mohammadpur village under the Shikohabad police station area. Circle Officer Amrish Kumar stated that police received information through Dial 112 at 5:30 am that a gas tanker had run over three members of a family sleeping outside their residence. A police team rushed to the spot and transported the injured to Shikohabad Joint Hospital.
At the hospital, doctors declared 50-year-old Kasim and his 11-year-old son Tausim dead. Kasim's 14-year-old daughter, Shifa, was admitted with critical injuries and remains under medical care.
Police Action
Authorities have seized the tanker and taken its driver into custody. Circle Officer Kumar confirmed that the driver has been detained for further investigation. The exact cause of the accident is being probed, and police are gathering evidence from the scene.
