Uttarakhand Police Honored with National Award for Passport Verification
Uttarakhand Police has been conferred the 'Institutional Performance Award for State Police' by the Union government for its efficient handling of passport verification applications during the 2025-26 financial year. The award recognizes state police forces for their speed and accuracy in conducting background checks of passport applicants.
Award Ceremony in New Delhi
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar presented the award at a ceremony held at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan in New Delhi on Friday. Additional Director General of Police (Administration) AP Anshuman received the award on behalf of Uttarakhand Police.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated the police force, stating, “Providing transparent, quality and time-bound public services remains a key priority of the state government.” Director General of Police Deepam Seth said the recognition reflected the force’s efforts to make passport verification more time-bound, transparent and citizen-centric. “Police headquarters laid special emphasis on regular review of passport verification work across districts, effective use of technology and ensuring quality verification within the stipulated timeframe. As a result, Uttarakhand Police delivered outstanding performance at the national level,” he said.
