A shocking incident unfolded in Muzaffarnagar district on Saturday morning when the body of a watchman was discovered inside the premises of a private school under Charthawal police station. The deceased, identified as Rajkumar alias Raju, aged around 50, had been employed as a watchman at the school for the past four years. According to police, he was allegedly attacked on the head with a sharp-edged weapon while on night duty.
Discovery of the Body
The grim discovery was made when school staff arrived in the morning and found Rajkumar's body lying in a pool of blood. Immediately, police teams, along with forensic experts and a dog squad, rushed to the spot. They conducted a thorough inspection of the crime scene and sent the body for postmortem examination. Family members of the deceased stated that he had no known enmity with anyone, leaving them baffled by the attack.
Police Investigation Underway
DSP (Sadar) Ravishankar Mishra informed that a police constable on morning patrol alerted officials, who promptly visited the site. He said multiple teams, including the Special Operations Group (SOG) and local police, have been formed to investigate the matter. “Evidence at the scene indicates injuries caused by a sharp weapon. Blood trails have been found, and the dog squad is being used to track the accused’s escape route. A case has been registered under section 103 (murder) of BNS,” the DSP added.
The police are currently examining CCTV footage from nearby areas and questioning locals to identify the perpetrator. The school has been closed for the day as a mark of respect, and further investigations are ongoing.
