In a shocking case of domestic conspiracy, the Proddatur police in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh have arrested 11 individuals, including a housewife, her paramour, and hired assassins, for allegedly plotting the murder of a man. The victim, identified as Eswar Reddy, a middle-aged resident of Lingapuram village, narrowly escaped death after his wife, K Shilpa, conspired with her lover to kill him.
Background of the Case
According to Proddatur DSP U Vibu Krishna, the dispute began when Eswar Reddy confronted his wife about her alleged intimacy with D Naga Sudheer, an attendant at a government hospital. Tired of the constant fights, Shilpa decided to eliminate her husband after he discovered the affair. She convinced her paramour to go along with the plan and raised a sum of ₹10 lakh by selling her jewelry to fund the murder.
The Conspiracy Unfolds
Naga Sudheer used the money as a 'supari' (contract) and hired a rowdy sheeter to carry out the killing. However, their plan began to unravel when Eswar Reddy became suspicious of his wife's sudden sale of jewelry. He lodged a formal complaint with the police, who acted swiftly.
Police Investigation and Arrests
The Proddatur police launched a detailed investigation and arrested 11 people in connection with the case. Along with Shilpa and Naga Sudheer, the other accused were identified as Perumalla Vinay Kumar, Suddugunta Palli Lakshmi Narayana, Perumalla Nagaiah, B Sudheer Kumar, T Srinivasulu, P Sivamohan Reddy, Siddaguntapalli Sai Kumar, RH Parasuramudu, and Chakali Mallikharjuna.
Seizures and Legal Action
During the arrests, police seized 10 sharp weapons including knives and iron rods, ₹5 lakh in cash, two cars, and several mobile phones. All 11 accused were produced before the local court and sent to judicial remand on Friday.
The case highlights the dangers of marital discord and the lengths to which individuals can go when driven by betrayal and greed. The police have commended the victim for his alertness in reporting the matter, which ultimately saved his life and led to the dismantling of the murder plot.
