Woman Call Centre Employee Found Dead in Pune River

A 22-year-old woman employed at a call centre in Yerawada was found dead in the waters of the Mula-Mutha river in Kharadi on Wednesday afternoon. The Kharadi police reported that the woman had jumped into the river from the bridge in Mundhwa on Tuesday afternoon.

Incident Details

Due to the strong water current, rescue teams were unable to locate her in the same area, and she was swept away to a location near Kharadi. The woman was a resident of Mhada in Solapur district. The police registered an accidental death report on Wednesday evening.

According to police, around 3pm on Tuesday, the woman placed her mobile phone and purse on the railing of the new bridge in Mundhwa and jumped into the river. Upon receiving information, some local residents attempted to rescue her by jumping into the river, but their efforts failed due to the strong current.

Search and Recovery

A fire brigade team arrived at the scene. The search operation continued until late Tuesday night but was unsuccessful. The search resumed on Wednesday morning, and her body was found around 1pm at a distance from the bridge.

The police informed her parents about her death. Her parents told the police that she had been under mental stress for the past few months due to some reasons.
