Woman Found Murdered in Bengaluru Home, No Signs of Forced Entry
Woman Found Murdered in Bengaluru Home

A 35-year-old woman was found murdered in her home in Bengaluru on Monday evening, with police reporting no signs of forced entry. The victim, a software professional living alone in a rented apartment in the HSR Layout area, was discovered by her brother when he came to check on her after she failed to answer phone calls.

No Signs of Break-In

According to the HSR Layout police, the door was locked from inside, and there were no indications of a struggle or forced entry. The victim's body was found in the bedroom with stab wounds. Police suspect the assailant was known to the victim, as the lack of forced entry suggests she may have let the attacker in voluntarily.

“We are investigating all angles. The forensic team is collecting evidence from the scene, and we are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death and whether she was sexually assaulted,” said a senior police officer.

Investigation Underway

The woman’s brother, who lives in another part of the city, filed a missing complaint after she did not respond to calls. He then went to her apartment and found the door locked. After breaking in, he discovered her body and alerted the police. The police have registered a case of murder and are questioning neighbors and known contacts.

“We have formed special teams to track down the suspect. The victim’s phone and other belongings are being examined,” the officer added.

Awaiting Forensic Report

Police are waiting for the forensic report to confirm if sexual assault occurred. The report is expected within a week. Meanwhile, the body has been sent for autopsy, and the investigation is ongoing.
