Hisar: The woman whose body was discovered in a village field in Hisar district on June 15 was killed by her neighbor to evade repaying a loan of Rs 4 lakh, police revealed on Wednesday following his arrest.
Arrest and Identification
Police identified the accused as Harpal, a resident of Prem Nagar, Hansi. The victim, Paso Devi, had allegedly lent him the money after selling a plot some time ago and had repeatedly requested its return.
Details of the Incident
On the night of the incident, Harpal reportedly took the woman in an e-rickshaw. After stopping for tea, they proceeded toward agricultural fields near Kharar village. There, the accused allegedly strangled her before fleeing the scene.
Evidence Leading to Arrest
Tyre marks found at the crime scene, along with CCTV footage from nearby areas and other technical evidence, helped police crack the case. The investigation is ongoing.
