Police in Ahmedabad have registered a murder case against a woman for allegedly killing her three children and then attempting suicide by consuming phenyl, officials said on Wednesday. The woman is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Incident Details
According to Valsad Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) JK Patel, police received information that a woman had killed her children, prompting an immediate investigation. The probe revealed that the incident occurred after a domestic dispute between the couple, triggered by the husband discovering his wife's extramarital affair.
Sequence of Events
Police said the woman allegedly administered phenyl to her children and later consumed the poison herself. She was found unconscious at the scene and rushed to a hospital for medical treatment. The children were pronounced dead at the scene.
"We found her in an unconscious state and admitted her to a hospital. Further investigation is underway," DSP Patel added.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case. The woman remains hospitalized, and her condition is reported to be stable. Police are gathering more evidence and recording statements from family members and neighbors.
This tragic incident highlights the severe consequences of domestic disputes and underscores the need for mental health support and conflict resolution mechanisms within families.
