Woman's Body Discovered in Jamui with Suspicious Injuries

Police in Jamui district made a grim discovery on Monday morning. They found the body of a woman in a Mahadalit settlement near Kurbatand Chowk. This area falls under the jurisdiction of the Garhi police station.

Family Reports Missing Person

Family members told authorities the woman had been missing since Sunday. They searched for her throughout the night but could not locate her. The search ended tragically when local villagers spotted her body beside a road in the settlement.

Injuries Point to Foul Play

Officers noted multiple injury marks on the woman's body. These visible wounds immediately raised strong suspicions of murder. Police have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

Victim Identified as Phulwa Devi

Authorities identified the deceased as Phulwa Devi. She was 42 years old and the widow of Sanjay Ravidas. Her husband passed away approximately five years ago.

Following his death, Phulwa Devi moved to Bengaluru with her two children. She worked there as a construction laborer to support her family. She had returned to her native village only about ten days before this incident occurred.

Police Investigation Underway

Garhi Station House Officer Vipin Chandra provided details about the case. He confirmed that external injuries were present on the body. However, he emphasized that the exact cause of death will be determined by the postmortem report.

The police have sent the body to Sadar Hospital for autopsy. They have also informed the woman's relatives about the tragic development.

SHO Chandra stated that preliminary investigations have not revealed any old disputes or enmity involving Phulwa Devi. The police are continuing their probe to uncover more details about this case.
