Yamunanagar Couple Cheats UP Resident of ₹55 Lakh, Booked

A couple from Yamunanagar has been booked by the police for allegedly cheating a resident of Uttar Pradesh of ₹55 lakh on the pretext of providing him a job in the police department. The accused have been identified as Rajesh Kumar and his wife Poonam, residents of Yamunanagar. The complainant, a resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, alleged that the couple promised to get him a job as a constable in the Haryana Police. The complainant paid the accused a total of ₹55 lakh over a period of time. However, when the job was not provided, the complainant demanded his money back. The accused allegedly refused to return the money and threatened him with dire consequences. Following the complaint, the Yamunanagar police registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including cheating and criminal intimidation. Further investigation is underway.
