Recovery and Confession

During questioning, Harjinder Singh allegedly confessed that the discarded packet contained heroin and proceeds from previous drug sales. The police recovered the packet, which held around 10 grams of heroin, along with Rs 16,900 in cash, believed to be illicit earnings from narcotics transactions.

In a crucial development during preliminary interrogation, Harjinder Singh reportedly disclosed that he had procured the heroin from his elder brother, Varinder Singh alias Kali, who is a resident of the same village. Based on this statement, the police have formally nominated Varinder Singh as a co-accused in the case, intensifying the investigation into familial involvement in drug trafficking.

Ongoing Investigation and Broader Context

Police officials confirmed that Harjinder Singh has been arrested, while concerted efforts are underway to apprehend the second accused, Varinder Singh. It is noteworthy that the suspects already have six cases registered against them in Ambala and Panchkula, with additional complaints filed in Yamunanagar, indicating a pattern of alleged criminal activity. This arrest underscores the police's commitment to combating drug abuse and trafficking in Punjab, aiming to dismantle organized networks that fuel this menace.
