The shooting occurred in the Dighi Paschimi Ward No. 3 area under the jurisdiction of the Sadar police station in Vaishali district. According to police reports, two unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on Manish Kumar, a 24-year-old resident of Keshopur village in Lalganj police station limits.
Manish Kumar, who is the son of Umesh Thakur, sustained a severe bullet wound to his head during the attack. Local residents immediately alerted the authorities after witnessing the incident.
Police Response and Medical Treatment
A police team swiftly arrived at the scene and transported the injured youth to Hajipur Sadar Hospital for emergency medical attention. Following initial stabilization efforts, doctors determined that his condition was too critical for local facilities to handle effectively.
Due to the severity of his injuries, medical professionals referred Manish Kumar to advanced healthcare facilities in Patna for specialized treatment. The transfer was arranged to ensure he received the comprehensive care necessary for such a traumatic injury.
Investigation Findings and Police Statements
Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Subodh Kumar provided details about the ongoing investigation. Police forensic teams recovered two empty cartridges of a 7.65 mm pistol from the crime scene, providing crucial evidence about the weapon used in the attack.
"Our preliminary inquiry suggests that a love affair dispute may be the likely motive behind this violent attack," stated SDPO Subodh Kumar. "We are also thoroughly examining the possibility of personal enmity connected to relationship issues."
Surveillance Footage and Suspect Identification
Investigators have reviewed closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from cameras installed in the surrounding area. This surveillance material has proven instrumental in the investigation.
"We have successfully identified the attackers based on the CCTV evidence," confirmed the SDPO. "Police teams are currently conducting raids at suspected locations where the perpetrators might be hiding."
