Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh on Monday expressed grave concerns over the safety of women in the national capital, stating that 'daughters are not safe in Delhi.' The remark came during a press conference where he highlighted the increasing incidents of crime against women in the city.
Rising Crime Against Women
Singh pointed out that despite the AAP government's claims of improving law and order, the ground reality is different. He cited recent cases of assault and harassment to underscore his point. 'The situation is alarming. Our daughters are not safe even in broad daylight,' he said.
Demand for Action
The MP demanded that the Delhi government and the police take immediate and stringent measures to ensure the safety of women. He called for better policing, faster legal proceedings, and stricter punishments for offenders. 'We need a zero-tolerance policy towards crimes against women,' Singh added.
He also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. Singh's comments have sparked a debate on social media, with many users echoing his concerns and demanding action from the government.
