Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday visited the site of a major fire incident in Lucknow, where he reviewed rescue and relief operations and met with the injured. The fire broke out in a multi-storey building in the state capital, causing significant damage and casualties.
CM Inspects Site, Orders Probe
Adityanath went to the upper floors of the building to assess the situation firsthand. He directed officials to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured and announced financial assistance for the victims' families. The CM also ordered a thorough investigation into the incident and promised strict action against those found negligent.
Compensation and Relief Measures
The state government announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to those seriously injured. Additionally, the injured will receive free treatment at government hospitals. Adityanath instructed the district administration to expedite relief work and provide all necessary support.
Political Reactions and Safety Concerns
The incident has sparked political reactions, with opposition parties criticizing the government's preparedness for fire safety. Adityanath, however, assured that the administration is taking all steps to prevent such incidents in the future. He emphasized the need for strict compliance with fire safety norms across the state.
