NEW DELHI: Bikash Saikia of the Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP) emerged victorious in the Teok Assembly constituency in Assam, securing 90,368 votes. He defeated Congress candidate Pallabi Saikia Gogoi by a decisive margin of 22,672 votes.
Teok Constituency Details
The Teok Assembly constituency is a general (unreserved) seat located in Jorhat district of Assam. For the 2026 Assembly elections, there were a total of 1,97,964 registered voters on the electoral rolls, comprising 96,485 male voters, 1,01,479 female voters, and none from the third gender.
Historical Election Results
In the 2021 Assam Assembly elections, the constituency had 1,36,829 registered voters, with 1,03,872 valid votes cast. Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) candidate Renupoma Rajkhowa won the seat with 47,555 votes, while Congress candidate Pallabi Gogoi finished second with 46,205 votes, losing by a narrow margin of 1,350 votes.
In the 2016 Assembly elections, Teok had 1,18,981 electors, with 95,446 valid votes recorded. AGP candidate Renupoma Rajkhowa again won the seat with 40,928 votes, defeating Congress candidate Pallabi Saikia Gogoi, who secured 35,879 votes.
