Political Storm Erupts Over Delhi Blast Victim Meetings
The political atmosphere in Delhi heated up significantly as the Bharatiya Janata Party and Aam Aadmi Party clashed over photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta meeting the same blast victim under different medical conditions.
AAP's Allegations and BJP's Counterattack
The controversy erupted when AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj took to social media platform X to share what he described as evidence of orchestrated meetings. On November 11, 2025, he claimed, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met the patient at the hospital, while on November 12, 2025, Prime Minister Modi met the same individual who now appeared with "new costume, new plaster on hand."
BJP Delhi responded strongly, labeling AAP's allegations as 'dirty politics' and accusing the party of sinking to new depths. In their detailed rebuttal, the BJP clarified the chronological sequence of events: The Chief Minister visited the hospital immediately after the incident when the patient's treatment had just begun, while the Prime Minister met the victims after necessary medical procedures were completed.
"How low will you stoop for this politics? Every time we think they can't sink any lower, AAP proves yet again that there's no bottom to their depths of depravity," the BJP stated in their social media post.
Treatment Timeline and Protocol Dispute
The BJP provided a detailed explanation of the medical timeline, emphasizing that when Chief Minister Gupta visited the hospital, the patient's check-up and treatment were still underway, and medical reports were pending. They accused AAP of turning every incident into a publicity stunt and described the party as "AAP-the drama company."
However, Saurabh Bharadwaj fired back with serious allegations about protocol violations. He claimed that following the bomb attack, established medical protocols were not followed, and a patient was allegedly kept waiting for first aid until Delhi government officials arrived for "photo sessions."
"The patient was not given a plaster on the same day; it was only after the Prime Minister arrived the next day that he was provided with a fresh plaster on his hand," Bharadwaj stated, criticizing what he called "PR stunts" during difficult times.
Background: The Deadly Delhi Blast
The political controversy stems from the devastating blast near Red Fort metro station on November 10 that claimed at least 13 lives and left numerous others injured. Intelligence agencies investigating the incident have uncovered a broader conspiracy, indicating plans to equip 32 vehicles with explosives for coordinated attacks across multiple cities.
As the investigation continues, the political blame game has intensified, with both parties using the tragic incident to score political points while victims continue their recovery at LNJP Hospital and other medical facilities.
