Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Thursday emphasized that both the state government and citizens must act responsibly to strengthen the country's economy. He asserted that patriotism is not limited to sacrificing one's life but also involves serving the nation through responsible actions.
Event Highlights Seven Principles by PM Modi
Speaking at a special program held at the BJP Telangana state office, Rao discussed the seven principles proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated that these recommendations focus on national economic self-reliance, protecting national interests, and encouraging public participation. During the event, a poster outlining the seven key suggestions was released.
Economic Security and Social Responsibility
Rao urged that the suggestions should not be viewed through a political lens, as they are linked to economic security and social responsibility. He underscored the importance of strengthening the domestic economy by promoting locally made products under the 'local for vocal' initiative. Drawing parallels with past economic challenges, Rao noted that former prime ministers Manmohan Singh and Indira Gandhi had also implemented austerity measures during difficult periods. He called on people to refrain from criticizing the PM's suggestions without understanding their broader economic purpose.
Rao shared that he recently used public transport while attending an event and highlighted that even senior officials in several countries follow similar practices. This, he said, demonstrates a commitment to responsible citizenship.
Expert Analysis of Economic Principles
During the program, Ch Krishnareddy, an associate professor at the School of Economics, University of Hyderabad, presented an analysis of the seven principles. He explained the global economic challenges facing India with statistical data. The professor emphasized that the recommendations are not merely government policies but part of a broader national economic movement that requires active public participation. He added that small lifestyle changes by ordinary citizens could collectively strengthen the country's economic power.
The event highlighted the need for collective action to achieve economic self-reliance and national progress, with Rao and Krishnareddy both calling for a shift in mindset towards responsible economic behavior.
