BJP's R Ashoka slams Siddaramaiah govt over unpaid pensions

BJP leader R Ashoka has strongly criticized the Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka government over the delay in disbursing pensions managed by the Revenue Department. Addressing a press conference, Ashoka highlighted that 12 types of pensions, affecting 81.88 lakh beneficiaries, have remained unpaid for the past three months.

Revenue Department pensions in arrears

Ashoka pointed out that the Revenue Department oversees various pension schemes, including old age pensions, widow pensions, and disability pensions. The non-payment of these dues has caused immense hardship to vulnerable sections of society. He accused the government of negligence and demanded immediate release of the pending amounts.

Government response awaited

The BJP leader also questioned the government's priorities, alleging that funds meant for welfare schemes were being diverted elsewhere. The state government is yet to respond to the allegations. Beneficiaries have expressed distress, with many relying on these pensions for their daily survival.
