Key Issues in Naharkatia

Cattle theft and smuggling have escalated tensions in the region, with over 150 animals reported missing recently, leading to discoveries of carcasses and demands for stricter policing. Infrastructure improvements such as the Burhi Dihing bridge, which is expected to cut Dibrugarh travel by 40 kilometers, and school provincialization have been highlighted, but voters seek sustained development amid oil and tea economies. Flooding and balancing industrial growth with local welfare remain persistent concerns.
