A tragic incident occurred in Sevilimedu near Kancheepuram on Thursday, where a 13-year-old boy lost his life after falling from the terrace of his house while flying a kite. The deceased has been identified as S Karthi, a resident of West Mada Street in Sevilimedu.

Details of the Incident

According to the police, the accident happened when the string of the kite got cut, prompting Karthi to run in an attempt to retrieve it. The terrace had a low-height parapet, which caused him to trip and fall from a height of nearly 60 feet. He sustained severe head injuries as a result of the fall.

Immediate Response and Medical Care

Neighbors who witnessed the incident immediately alerted Karthi's parents and called for an ambulance. He was initially taken to Kancheepuram Government Hospital for emergency care. Later, he was transferred to Chengalpet Government Hospital for further treatment. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and died without responding to treatment.
