A 32-year-old BSF nursing assistant, who was posted at the BSF Training Centre and School (TC&S) in Meru, has been missing since the night of June 12, according to police.
FIR Lodged by BSF Authorities
Muffasil police station officer-in-charge Mukesh Singh stated on Tuesday that an FIR was filed by BSF authorities regarding the disappearance of Anant Chakraborty, a native of Murshidabad in West Bengal. Chakraborty was employed at the BSF hospital in Hazaribag.
Despite extensive searches conducted across the Meru campus, bus stands, railway stations, and other locations, no trace of him has been found so far.
Last Contact with Wife
According to police, Chakraborty last spoke to his wife, Kajal, around 8:43 pm on June 12. He did not return home after completing his duty around 8 pm, and his mobile phone has remained switched off since then.
His bike was later discovered abandoned near Nagwa Toll Plaza on NH-33 under Korra police station limits.
Possible Family Differences
Police sources indicated that there were initial signs of possible differences between Chakraborty and his wife, following which he reportedly left on his bike and did not return. However, no concrete leads have emerged yet.
Officials added that Chakraborty was recently posted in Hazaribag and was staying in rented accommodation near Meru, outside the BSF colony.
