Congress Leader Alleges Conspiracy in Ajit Pawar's Plane Crash Death, Demands Thorough Investigation
Senior Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar has stirred significant political controversy by alleging a potential conspiracy behind the tragic death of former Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar in a recent plane crash. Speaking in Nagpur on Monday, Wadettiwar demanded a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the incident, questioning several unexplained circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
"Daal Mein Kuch Toh Kaalaa Hain": Wadettiwar's Strong Allegations
Wadettiwar expressed his suspicions using the Hindi idiom "Daal mein kuch toh kaalaa hain" (something is fishy), citing widespread chatter on social media platforms and within various political circles across Maharashtra. The Congress leader claimed that approximately 80% of people in Maharashtra share his belief that there is something suspicious about the circumstances leading to Pawar's death.
"A CID enquiry alone is not going to solve anything," Wadettiwar asserted. "Why was the pilot changed at the last moment? How can negligence happen in the case of such a big leader? NCP leaders should demand that Prime Minister Narendra Modi get this investigated properly. If this is not an accident, if there is a conspiracy behind this, then who does that point to?"
Political Echoes: Raut Plans Parliamentary Intervention
In New Delhi, Shiv Sena UBT leader Sanjay Raut echoed similar concerns, stating that Pawar's plane crash "reeked of conspiracy." Raut revealed that Pawar had been keen on merging his political faction with his uncle Sharad Pawar's group and questioned whether this political intention might have contributed to his untimely death.
"The manner in which a leader like Ajit dada died in a plane crash and the facts which are coming to light, it should be investigated thoroughly," Raut emphasized. "I think there is something dubious here. He was keen to merge his party and leave NDA. And within 10-15 days of that he dies, that's suspicious." The Shiv Sena leader announced his intention to raise the entire issue during upcoming parliamentary sessions.
NCP's Internal Questions and External Backlash
Even within the Nationalist Congress Party, questions have emerged. NCP's own Member of Legislative Council from Akola, Amol Mitkari, raised several points requiring clarification. While careful not to make direct allegations, Mitkari highlighted concerning details: "There was a sudden change of route and a sudden change of pilot. Not a single piece of paper was burned, but the bodies were burned. This raises some suspicions."
Mitkari emphasized that only an official clarification from government authorities and investigating agencies could end the growing speculation and rumors circulating across Maharashtra. He has demanded discussion on these critical points during the upcoming Budget session of the state legislature, asserting that people deserve to know the complete truth about the incident.
Political Rebuttal and Counter-Allegations
The allegations from Congress leaders drew an immediate and sharp rebuttal from NCP (Ajit) leader Sunil Tatkare, who dismissed Wadettiwar's comments as lacking moral authority. "Wadettiwar has no moral authority to speak about our party," Tatkare stated firmly. "Leaders who are busy handling panic and infighting within their own Congress party should refrain from commenting on others. He should first decide which Congress faction the Chandrapur mayor's post belongs to and take responsibility there."
This exchange highlights the intense political tensions surrounding the investigation into Ajit Pawar's death, with multiple parties positioning themselves amid growing public speculation and demand for transparency.
